Bibles Bless Troops, Chaplains and Churches
by adminAlmost every day at Military Ministry, we get letters, emails and phone calls thanking us for the Bibles we distribute in Rapid Deployment Kits and other packages. We’d like to share just a few of these with you.
In Iraq, the Bible in my Rapid Deployment Kit was the one I had, the only one. Times when we were reading our Bible, the one we got in our kit, it was all the guys sitting around, reading, and it was a big comfort to have that…to read before missions, or even unwinding in our bunks at the end of the day.
I’m a Soldier serving in Baghdad. I picked up a bible today and as I was reading I noticed your sticker in the inside cover….it was nice to have a feeling of something being from home. For that I say thank you. It is the small things that keep us going over here.
Last Sunday I had about 80 young marines in my (military chapel) service. I had the RDKs displayed on a table in the back by the cross. After the service, 50 of the Marines took an RDK and accepted Christ at that time.
Military Ministry has sent more than 1.5 million Bibles to our troops and their families since 9/11/2001. Most of these are offered to troops by military chaplains, who are always surprised and grateful when we are able to send them hundreds or even thousands of Bibles at no cost to them.
Greetings from the USS ___. The (RDKs) have greatly contributed to the increased spirituality on the ship. Several have recommitted to walking with Christ. Some who previously had no spiritual inclination are now talking, asking questions, and attending one of the ministries/worship services on the ship.
Chaplains offer Rapid Deployment Kits (a New Testament, devotional, and Gospel presentation) to anyone who’s interested. Sometimes, even the chaplains are taken by surprise by the response…
I was overwhelmed at the demand for the kits; I gave away every one I had available and some of my soldiers were asking for more for their buddies. I also had a chance to pray with dozens of soldiers when the kits were given out.
It’s not just troops and chaplains that are being blessed by the Bibles we send…
I lead a small group at my church that is collecting money for Rapid Deployment Kits. We have only been collecting for 2 weeks and have collected approximately $1300 so far! … I am so humbled and impressed with this, as we are not a huge church and have many charitable campaigns going on right now. Clearly, we have people who have a passion to equip our soldiers with God’s word and the knowledge that people care and love them.
We at Military Ministry hope you have been blessed, too, by these “stories from the front.” If you want to know more about the Rapid Deployment Kit program, click here. Or, send us your story. We’d love to hear from you!
