‘It’s now part of my uniform.’

Recently a soldier wrote, “Some days I feel as if I can’t do things right and I get off track, but at night back in the bay some other Privates and myself read a scripture from the RDK [Rapid Deployment Kit] and it reminds me why I am here and gives me that motivation I need.”
Can you picture it now? A group of young men or women in uniform, all opening their RDKs each night to discuss the Lord and His faithfulness!
Since 9/11/2001, Military Ministry has distributed nearly 2.3 million Rapid Deployment Kits. Every RDK has been packed by volunteers and distributed primarily through a network of about 1,000 military chaplains stationed around the world. The RDK includes a pocket-sized New Testament with the Psalms and Proverbs from The American Bible Society; a copy of “Our Daily Bread” from RBC Ministries; and a “Would You Like to Know God Personally?” booklet from Campus Crusade for Christ.
Another soldier wrote, “The little Bible in my RDK has really helped me. Being able to pull out my Bible and read it really helped to de-stress me. It’s now part of my uniform.”
The demand for RDKs continues to be tremendous (10,000 to 15,000 are still requested each month) as the wars continue and recruitment soars. We desire to answer every single request – to ensure that every troop has the opportunity to make the RDK a part of their uniform.
