Oh how I wish the road to God were straight and narrow and lit with the lamps of angels, but then we would not appreciate what is at the end of our journey near so much. I have found myself neck deep in the mud puddles, the pot holes, the blind corners of life. I have considered myself roadkill at the side of the highway, another casualty in the quest for peace and the contemplative life in Christ. Each time I found, or someone found me, who lifted my head and made me look heavenward. By keeping it in my sights I slowly and methodically got back on the road without even knowing it. My dear Christianne, keep looking up and looking forward.

Please pray for my son. He is struggling with his commitment to serving Christ and following a military that he does not believe is honoring God. He is also very far from home and is sounding depressed and lonely. He is just 20 years-old and I know that he is homesick. Please also pray the God will place some strong believers in his path. As a veteran I understand the price we veterans were asked to pay for the freedom of others. But for myself God has always been there. We did what was asked and did not question, that is whaT WE WERE TAUGHT AND LIVED BY JUST AS JESUS did what the heavenly father asked of him and did his duty so follow his example and we do ours.

Pray for Adam, a Navy man who is currently separated from his wife and has custody of his four children. Pray for him to clear up the necessary legal and personal matters so that he can continue to serve his children and the Navy.
