“He reached down from on high and took hold of me, He drew me out of deep waters…He rescued me because he delighted in me.” In this time of suffering God will take hold of me. In the deep waters of illness and all that swirls within, God will rescue me. I ask that He draw me out of this deep affliction. It is hard to understand that a God who delights in me would allow me to go to the depths of this darkness. Now is the time to wait and trust. I cannot see His plan but I trust the searching will lead me to His salvation for me. Prayer Father, the waters of my illness run deep. I do not know where this river will take me. I ask you to take hold of me and draw me out of the swirling waters, and into Your hands. I look to You for my rescue. Amen Here again is David; David the Soldier, David whose enemies are trying to kill him. It has been no surprise to me that throughout the verses selected to help in desperate times, many come from the heart of David. He had enemies on the outside, but it is said that he also faced enemies on the inside. Enemies on the inside are just as real and can kill. David was known as the “man after God’s own heart.” I believe he became that because he struggled and wrestled with the enemies trying to destroy him from within. He searched his heart. He knew he was in trouble and cried out to the Lord for help. “David is the picture of the man after God’s own heart—a believer in whom the spirit of God dwells and who is open to the instruction of the Spirit, who is taught to walk in the Holy Spirit.” - Ray Stedman In the PTSD battle we must do the same. We don’t always know our enemies. They disguise themselves in the battle. We do know who God is and this is the time to call on him for rescue asking Him to draw us out of the affliction. This is the time to learn to trust God and His Word. This is now our time to be taught by the Lord. Pray for Military Families
