Stories from the Front
Testimonies from troops and Chaplains about the power of the Word of God:
- Yesterday afternoon I used an RDK (Military Ministry Rapid Deployment Kit) to lead a suicidal soldier to Christ. ~ Army Chaplain
- I am a Marine combat veteran and now military chaplain. I have seen the that effectiveness of the kits (RDKs) and the resources within the Chaplain’s boxes are very useful… God has used the tracts in a remarkable way since the first printing. We have printed and distributed over 75,000 here in this first year….I have seen the Gospel tract being used in the RDK’s, but I think this being specifically for the military troops from one who has been in combat and in their shoes today, is powerful. ~ Marine Chaplain
- Please thank your team for us. I have let the ship know and they are excited to be re-supplied with the 120 Bibles so quickly. We gave all of our on-board resources to the Chaplains on the ground in Haiti. Thank you for your ministry! ~ Navy Chaplain serving in support of Haiti Relief
- PRAISE GOD!!! We are so blessed and thankful to know how our Lord is using the materials that He has provided. ~ Army Chaplain Captain serving in Iraq
- Our chaplain staff has nearly exhausted our RDK supply. The troops really enjoy reading the Bibles and other reading material in the kit. Thank you for honoring our request.~ Army Staff Sergeant Chaplain Assistant
- In Kandahar, Afghanistan, one marine had just returned from a combat patrol and his first action was to pull the bible from his fatigue pocket and kneel down to pray. His exhaustion was apparent, but his purposeful commitment to prayer was more compelling. Another marine had just completed a tour guarding prisoners in the compound at Kandahar and was assigned to accompany me through the compound. I noticed the pocket where he appeared to have kept his bible. I asked him where he got it and he said it was given to him on board ship before he deployed into Afghanistan. He said a lot of his comrades were using them and he found great comfort in his combat bible. ~ Army General
- In just one month we have distributed 12,561 Rapid Deployment Kits and 16 Chaplain’s Kits. Thank you so much for the RDKs that you provide for military chaplains. When my National Guard unit was mobilized for Hurricane Katrina Relief operations, I was able to hand out the RDKs to soldiers and airmen that were serving in our task force along the Mississippi Coast. I have also been handing them out to soldiers as they deploy or come back from Iraq and Afghanistan. I always ask soldiers and airmen if they would like to have a copy, so it’s completely voluntary. I really believe that they have appreciated the devotional as well as the pocket-size New Testament. Thank you for helping us with the privilege of planting seeds of the gospel in the hearts of our service members. ~ National Guard Chaplain Captain
- I have definitely used many of the RDKs and am very thankful for them. At this time I am in Iraq and giving many of them out. They are always itching to get their hands on anything that (reminds them) of faith. ~ Chaplain Captain
- …I was overwhelmed at the demand for the kits; I gave away every one I had available and some of my soldiers were asking for more for their buddies. I also had a chance to pray with dozens of soldiers when the kits were given out, and I continue to pray for those soldiers that Jesus will keep them safe and draw them closer to God. Thanks again for your support in sharing the Word with these men and women of the Army. ~ Army Chaplain 1st Lieutenant
- …Our soldiers love them (RDKs). Virtually every soldier desires to have one. I guess that is one of the good things that happen when soldiers are being separated from their families and going into harm’s way. They begin to examine their lives in relationship to the Lord. Only eternity will show how many soldiers will spend an eternity with the Lord, as a result of the kits. Please send 400 kits. Blessings for you and your marvelous ministry! ~ Mobilization Chaplain Major
- Thank you for your follow up today. Our Soldiers greatly appreciate the resources and I have them very useful for challenging our troops toward being fearless and faithful. It is through your support and other likeminded ministries that we (Chaplains, Assistants and ministry multiplier Christians) are better equipped to share the gospel of Christ and grow fearless and faithful disciples. Thanks again and I look forward to working with you in the future! ~ Battalion Chaplain
- Sir, I cannot adequately express my gratitude for the support received from your organization. We are deployed to a remote location where supplies are non-existent. I have made a request to your office concerning the need for Bibles, and our chapel has been flooded with your generosity. Many of our Troopers were in need of Bibles and never thought about their spiritual needs prior to arriving in theater. Through your ministry they were equipped with God’s word. We are conducting a Bible study through the Book of Romans and I am thankful to have Bibles to give out when they arrive. Please send my gratitude and thankfulness to your folks. God bless you guys. ~ Battalion Chaplain
- Received the shipment today! Absolutely wonderful! I will get these plugged into the unit the end of this month. ~ Army Chaplain
- Our unit is on standby for deployment. The box of RDKs will be handed out should we get the call. It is good to know I have something to give our soldiers in their time of need. ~ Army Chaplain
- Thank you so much for you support. Today I have prepared many Christmas gifts for our soldiers. We will have a Christmas Eve candle service at 2200 and I will hand out the Christmas gift to our soldiers whom I prepared with your gifts (RDKs and Compact Bibles). I pray for you to have a blessed Christmas and happy new year. May God bless you. ~ Army Chaplain serving in Iraq
- Thank you for the wonderful rapid deployment kits. They are perfect for unit deployment. I found them to be exactly what we need to give to our troops and their family members which will help them adjust as the units deploy. PRO DEO ET PATRIA- For God and Country. ~ Army Chaplain
